Epic was selected to provide CM/ Design-Build Services for a partial gut renovation of Building T-2 for Kingsborough Community College. Formerly used for CUNY administrative offices, the 10,000 SF renovation project created six classrooms and an Emergency Medical Technician Training Center.

The EMT Program, the first of its kind in the State of New York, trains technicians through the use of simulations with a virtual emergency department, ambulance drop-off area, decontamination area, trauma/cardiac resuscitation area and four ED-type bays. Each of these areas has the AV infrastructure to support the use of electronic manikins for the simulated treatment of patients. The AV includes cameras and microphones for the recording and playback of these simulations.

All classroom renovations include smart podiums with instructors linked to projector/smartboards. One specially designed classroom will be used for the NYC Taxi Institute. A former Building T-1 / T-2 connecting link was converted for adaptive re-use as an organic farm storage and supply facility.
