Project highlights: This project provided a state-of-the-art building for the College of the Arts’ School of Communication and Media, as well as a new arts and sciences quad. By linking Morehead Hall with Life Hall, the new 105,000 SF facility creates a high-tech multimedia space. It reflects the University’s commitment to preparing students for the rapidly evolving communication and media industry.

The building features multi-functional spaces, including a cutting-edge, multi-platform newsroom, a 150-seat presentation hall, broadcast studios, an integrated media lab, a film screening room, and acting and dance studios. Additionally, the Arts and Sciences quad includes a central pathway, large trees, lawn areas, plantings, benches, and seating areas designed to encourage student interaction.

The building contains three TV studios, three control rooms, and a film studio. It also includes a fully operational newsroom with a control room (capable of full automation), a Flashcam room, and two screening theaters. Additionally, there is a Foley studio and dance studios. Beyond visual media, the college’s three radio stations now have several studios, audio labs, and a performance space for live bands.
