Project: Renovation and Restoration of Warren County Courtroom #1

Epic Interiors’ role: General Contractor

Project highlights: Warren County’s historic Courthouse in Belvidere, the first public works project of the newly formed county government nearly 200 years ago, was renovated by a team led by Epic Interiors, LLC. This long-awaited project involved extensive upgrades to the grand courtroom on the second floor, located in the section of the courthouse built in the 1820s.

Key elements: The renovation of the 2,533-square-foot courtroom included installing a new gypsum board ceiling, painting, new lighting, and modifications to the existing chandeliers. The team also installed new ceiling trim and cabinetry. They replaced the old HVAC system with a new unit in the attic space and created a new IT room across the hallway. The renovation required careful removal of old finishes and modernization with new sound systems, monitors, and recording equipment. The project preserved the courthouse’s historic aesthetic by repainting existing pew seating benches, refinishing railing systems in the well area, and making platform modifications.
